WHY DOES IT TAKE DEATH TO LOVE

Subject of the week:
WHY DOES IT TAKE DEATH TO LOVE

This week claim the life of another one of our stars.
Mike Starr was found dead at his home at the young
age of 44. He had been in rehab a couple of times
trying to fight his addictions. He even appeared on the
show Celebrity Rehab back in 2009 and then Sober
House in 2010.

The rocker's father stated following the incident
It's a terrible shock and tragedy”.

I don't know too much about Mike except that he was
a talented musician and gave part of himself to all
through his music. I wasn't a close friend or even a
friend of a friend. I do know this, that Mike Starr is
dead. He is gone. No would've, should've, could've for
him.

I stand in judgment of no one. What I'm about to say
may even offend some. Those going through a crisis
may not know how to ask for help so I'm going to ask
for them. If your are my friend, my family someone who
really cares. Kidnap me, drag me, beat me, tell me that
you love me to much to let me go without a fight, do
whatever you have to, just don't let me die. I may hate
you today, tomorrow or even a week from now but I
guarantee you in 5 to 10 years when we look back,
I'll thank you.

I want to share a tweet I read the other day that was
sent out by a Maksim Chmerkovskiy (pro dancers
with DWTS). His tweet said watching Life As a
House...crying. I thought how fitting that movie is to
Mike Starr's lost.

For those who haven't seen it yet I have made it
YouTube's pick of week for you to view here on this
page. It's about a man that learns he is dying and
instead of becoming bitter and cold he chooses to take
what time he has left to get to know his estranged son
again. In doing so he helps his son find himself and a
reason to live. In essence he gave his son the greatest
gift of all, Love. The ability to be loved and to give love
in return.

What this man chose to do made his death more
powerful then his life. It doesn't have to be that way you
know. We don't have to wait until death comes to show
love. Just think of all the camping trips, the fishing
trips, the walks and the talks they could have had, if
only he realized sooner the power of love.

I wrote a poem I'd like to share. I hope you like it.

TEARS NO MORE

What is this coming down my face
One left one right but it's not a race
Pain I feel make it go away
Sadness is here I hope it want stay
I tried so hard to spare you this
But your heart I somehow have missed
kindness I taught you is what you must show
Forgiveness of others will help you to grow
Love is the most powerful gift of them all
Putting God first you will never fall
Now you've come back to me with anger in your eyes
What has stolen this gift I once called my prize
I won't let it have you I can't you see
Cause I have something more powerful standing by me
Here it comes first the left then the right
Tears like raindrops as I stand with all my might
We scuffed and twisted all through the night
As I held on no matter the how hard the fight
I can't let this thing have you no way no way
I got on my knees and continue to pray
Finally a quiet calmness fills the air
As I pulled you near to speak in your ear
I hope you could hear what your heart didn't feel
Then you looked at me as though you begin to remember
All the things you'd been taught and all the things you alt not
You leaned towards me and wiped my face and began to say
Tears no more momma not today not today
