FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Subject Of The Week:
Your Family, My Family, Our Family

I read an ad the other day that said "To win, you row
together. A crew knows it's not who can pull hardest,
it's pulling together as a team to create synergy."
Synergy, in general, may be defined as two or more
agents working together to produce a result not
obtainable by any of the agents independently.
Synergism, the joint action of agents, as drugs, that
when taken together increase each others
effectiveness. No matter the word or definition you
choose it means a coming together, team work for the
success of all parties involved. No pushing, no pulling,
no control but working together.

This theory is one often used in the business world but
I feel it also holds true in the family arrangement. It
takes the effort of each member to make the family life
a true success.  As one famous football player (Deion
Sanders) loves to say #H O P know your roll.  Where
are my fathers at?  It's not that a single mom can't
have a successful family, in fact it has been proven
quite the opposite, but I like the way  Tejado W.
Hanchell put it. " Husbands the family is your
responsibility. It's not that your wife can't- she
shouldn't have to.

What about the communication? If you did it all the
time then I wouldn't be suspect.  What do I mean?
Take the wife for instance: If you said I love you all
the time, then I wouldn't be suspect when it came
from nowhere. Take the child:  If you showed me
that you care all the time, then I wouldn't be suspect
when you try to correct me.

I think it was best said by one young man the other
day  name J. Jones- "Man now days teenagers and
young men are either killing each other, in prison
or getting in trouble or have 5 different baby
mommas. Now I see why my mother was always
hard on me. Now I see why she always wanted to
know where I was going, who I was with, what
time I was coming home. Even when I was 18-
21 she was on a nigga. And still till dis day.
Thank u momma!"

Then there was the young lady name Jenna from
Intervention on AETV.com. When her family met
at the group intervention meeting to let her know
she needed to choose between drugs or them.
Jenna's only remark was "what took you so long"

I feel today we have forgotten that we are all one big
family, and the importance of helping one another.
With strong families come strong communities. Your
Family, My Family,Our Family.
